We drove directly to Old Town Sacramento and visited the California State Railroad Museum. After that, we drove a little over an hour east to the city of Coloma and visited the Sutter's Mill, the 1st gold discovery site! We then drove all the way to Sonora on route 49 and stayed at a motel next to the historic Sonora Inn, a haunted hotel. Dinner at Hong Kong Garden restaurant was a fun experience, food portion was very small, the girls love it but we were still hungry after dinner.

Spring break 2013 (Part 2) Old Sacramento & Sutter's Mill
On Sunday morning, after we had breakfast at Denny's next to the motel, we drove half an hour and stopped by Lodi to visit my 1st house and the old neighbors. My old house has already changed hands twice and my best neighbor Donna & Keith are still living in the same house. I was sorry to learn that their son Dale passed away couple years ago due to a scuba diving accident.
