Vacation in Houston/ Galveston, Texas

A week before school starts, we took a 5-day vacation to visit Houston Texas. Helen's company has recently moved the headquarters & warehouse to Houston. When Helen mentioned our vacation plan to her boss Kenny, he was so excited and booked/paid for the air tickets for all of us! We got up at 4:30am and took the 7:00 am flight from LAX to HOU on 8/13 Saturday. It was a smooth flight and arrived Houston Hobby airport as scheduled.

The fun started on Sunday... We went to the Moody Gardens on Galveston island, visited many attractions including the Rainforest Pyramid, the Aquarium Pyramid, Discovery Museum, Colonel Paddlewheel Boat ride and the Dinosaur show. On Monday, we went to the Schlitterbahn Waterpark for a whole day, there were lots of exciting slides and wild rivers located all over "Wasserfast", "Blastenhoff" and "Surfenburg" sections, it was perfect place to cool down on a hot summer day! On Tuesday, we went to the Space Center Houston and spent a whole fun day checking out the shows & museum displays, lunar vehicle, spacesuits, dehydrated food, moon rocks, rockets, space shuttle and the actual training facilities for the astronauts! We had some delicious food for dinners during our stay... For some reasons, the girls love to eat steak for dinners, Erica calls it "Chewy chum chum", when asked why, she said because she has to chew it for a long time...
We spend the last half day visiting Helen's office headquarters in Houston. It's a very nice facility, everybody gets their own office. There is a very large conference room with 3D TV, nice kitchen and a decent size warehouse in the back. We went to a Vietnamese Pho place for lunch with Lisa. We left the office at around 3:30pm and head back to the airport, everything went very well but the summer weather in Texas was just unbearable! The flight back to LAX took off on time and arrived half hour early, we had a late dinner at the Danny's near the airport and got home at around 11:15pm, we were all tired.
