Vivian's new bike!

The girls have been crazy about riding scooters & bikes since about a month ago. Besides of after school biking on the neighborhood streets, we have been doing weekend biking with the girls. So far our record was 6 miles round trip in the Newbury Park area. Vivian has outgrown her small bikes so we brought her a new one from Newbury Park Bicycle Shop: A 2012 Giant "Bella". Erica has a 2011 model which we bought for her last June.

Spring Break 2012

We have just finished a 7-day Spring break vacation in Toronto Canada visiting family! Unlike last year, the weather in Toronto during our stay this year was extremely warm. The girls had a great week playing with their cousins, celebrating grandparents 50th wedding anniversary and grandpa's 76th birthday. We have also spent a nice day visiting Ontario Science Centre. Lots of pictures to share with you!

The Living Museum

After couple of months of research, writing the monologue, mommy's help converting a Halloween costume into a new outfit and daddy's help in making the tri-fold back board, Erica was ready for presentation this evening. 18 third grade students from room 12 portrayed their favorite historical figures in front of groups of parents and their siblings. Erica chose to portray the world famous figure skater Michelle Kwan from California. Erica did a marvelous job and presented her 4 minute monologue over 10 times in the multi-purpose room to groups of audiences and received countless compliments! Other historical figures that were presented include Amelia Earhart, Steve Jobs, Eleanor Roosevelt, Neil Armstrong, Mozart, Thomas Edison, Bethany Hamilton, Milton Hershey and many others, it was a wonderful evening seeing all these talented students' presentation!

1st time to the NHM of LA County

We finally made it to the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County this morning! This is the 2nd museum we've visited after getting the NHM annual family member passes. The girls have never been to any Natural History Museum before so it was a wonderful experience for them! It's a big museum, we had only managed to visit several exhibits: North American Mammals, Birds, Dinosaurs, Discovery Center and Gems & Minerals. We will go back to the NHM in a few months to visit the African Mammals, Shells, Insects and other exhibits. We are planning to visit the William S. Hart Museum in Newhall in the next couple of weeks.

After visiting the museum, we went to the Garden Cafe in San Gabriel for a late lunch, then we went to Julia's office in Covina and finished up the 2011 tax preparation, after that, we went to Alhambra grocery shopping before head back home.

Vivian turns 7!

Vivian turned 7 on February 18! She was being very specific of what she wants for her birthday... She wanted a Razor scooter from daddy, a water bottle from mommy, an ice-cream cake from Baskin-Robbins, a dinner at Todai Japanese seafood buffet in Woodland Hills and 21 cupcakes to bring to school on Tuesday. Erica made Vivian a birthday card designed by herself using Microsoft publisher! Happy Birthday my dear little princess!
