Helena & Henry's visit to our cabin

Weather forecast that we would have snow over the weekend... We invited Helena and Bonnie's family over to our cabin for hotpot dinner. Bonnie's family was not able to make it because Danny was busy with her tax season and Bonnie has to take Rachel to the dentist... Good thing Helena's family made it and we had a fun hotpot dinner! We went sledding at the Nordic Base on Sunday morning, the snow was very thick and soft up there! After we returned to the cabin, we had a heavy snow fall and it was absolutely beautiful!

Visiting Stella's new house in Irvine

My old friend from PolyDesign Stella bought a house in Irvine and moved here to Southern California to live with her son and daughter, her husband Mark was visiting from Hong Kong during the Chinese New Year holidays. We went to visit with Wendy and David's family, we had potluck lunch, it was a fun gathering on a rainy day.

Vivian's 10th Birthday!

Vivian turned 10!! Since it's in the middle of the week, we didn't have time to prepare, this is the 1st year Vivian even doesn't have a birthday cake on her birthday. I picked up the girls and went directly to   KalBeQ in Simi Valley and met up with mommy for all you can eat Korean BBQ dinner, this restaurant has become one of our favorite place for dinner lately.

Grandpa's visit

We invited dad to come to California for Christmas and New Year holiday after mom passed. Dad flew in on December 15 and left on the 6th of January. During his stay, we took him to visit uncle (dad's brother) & auntie who live with my cousin in Monterey Park. He also visited my cousin John's family in Granada Hills and his childhood friend Henry in San Gabriel. We also took him up to our cabin and spend a couple weekends over there, had hot pot dinner with our friends. I also introduced our friend Chen and Dudee to him and took him to the 3rd street Promenade in Santa Monica and the Ronald Reagan Library to check out the Air Force One which he didn't see last time when he was there long time ago. Dad also spent a lot of time playing with Erica & Vivian during his stay, we hope he had a fun time with us!

First snow in Winter 2014

We had a severe Winter storm in Southern California on Friday, lots of rain fall all over the southland and we had over a foot of snow up at Mt. Pinos. We haven't be able to go to our cabin for the past month due to busy weekend schedules, so glad we finally got a chance to head up there this weekend. Hot pot dinner and lunch, a short drive from our cabin to the Nordic Base at Mt. Pinos and let the girls play with snow, snapped a few pictures...

Tropical rain forest project

Vivian will have a presentation tomorrow to talk about the tropical rain forest. As usual, daddy provided a helping hand to prepare the model for the presentation. Vivian helped to collect the reference on the web and directed daddy on all elements needed for the model, she also prepared the speed by herself. Daddy spent a majority of the day on Saturday and built the diorama model with Vivian, we finished off the model by planting some real "trees" that we fresh picked from the side of the road locally.

2014 holiday photoshoot

It's getting close to the holiday season again and it's time to shoot some holiday pictures to make the greeting cards. This this our 3rd year shooting location holiday pictures at PMC. It's a picture perfect day and we started shooting at around 10am after breakfast, it was still a little chilly outside (10 degrees C) but the girls cooperated and worked hard for me to capture these images.
