The 10th annual Sounds of Conejo, Marching Band & Color Guard performance

Hosted by Thousand Oaks High School, there were 8 High School Bands performing tonight. Ticket booth opened at 5:30pm and the gate opened at 6pm, show started at 7pm and ended at 9:30pm. This was Erica's 1st major Color Guard performance and it turn out to be an excellent one. As a matter of fact, all schools performed very well and everyone had a great time.

Erica turns 14 today!

Gathering @ Bolsa Chica Beach

Bonnie and Danny organized another gathering at Borsa Chica Beach on Labor Day weekend! We had the longest heat wave in Southern California this past week,  the weather was perfect because it's much cooler and it was overcasted all day. It's Erica's 14th birthday today. We will celebrate with her tonight at home.

Erica's 1st Color Guard performance

Erica has been working so hard the summer especially in last couple weeks of Band Camp, she has practices almost everyday including Saturdays from noon to 8:30pm. They had their 1st performance to the parents on Friday 8/18. The performance was great!

We had another pool party at Helena & Henry's house on 8/12 Saturday. Lots of good food and fun time before school year starts

Monterey Bay Aquarium @ Cannery Row

It has been 7 years since last visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It's a great place to visit, lots of sea creatures to see and touch. We swung by Big Sur and snapped some breath-taking pictures.

Road trip to San Francisco

A week before Erica's highschool orientation, we took the girls on a road trip to Northern California. we left home on Wednesday morning, stopped by Ostrichland in Buellton to feed the Ostriches and Emus, grab a lunch at the Anderson's. we found a beautiful place at Backbay Park near Morro Bay! we spent a night at King City and started our 2nd day at 7am. We visited the Winchester Mystery House, the girls really enjoyed the tour. After lunch at a Vietnamese restaurant, we went to the Golden Gate, Fisherman's Wharf and China town. After dinner, we drive 2 hours to Marina near Monterey Bay and spend a night.

1st time smoking

Someone in our community dumped an old smoker out, we took it home and took it apart, gave it a good sanding, cleaning, new coat of high temperature paint, replaced wood fixtures and it's just like a new one. tonight we fired it up the 1st time to smoke some ribs, pork belly and a piece of salmon. looks like it works as good as a new one too!
