Vivian's new pet!
Vivian just adopted a new pet last Saturday, it's an 1 year old male Australian transparent Bearded Dragon which Vivian named it "Pineapple". She has been bugging us for a Bearded Dragon for about 3 weeks since I shown her one on the Craigslist. We bought this one from a guy in Simi Valley for only $60, usually you'll find these in the pet store selling for $150-$200 each! We set up a 40 gallon terrarium in the garage and we have heat lamp for it at night time and UVB lights during daytime. Vivian is very proud of her new pet and was showing to our neighbors almost everyday!

Anansi and the Moss Covered Rock
The first grade classes at Westlake Hills had a play at 7:00pm in school tonight. The name of the play is called Anansi and the Moss Covered Rock, it is based on a West African Tale. It's the story of a very tricky spider who discovered a magic rock which he uses to steal food form all the jungle inhabitants. The last laugh is on Anansi, of course, but not before everyone has a chance to sing some fun songs about yam, dancing mangos and Anansi's mischief... The first graders spent a whole week practicing the play. Vivian was one of the elephants. Erica had the same show when she was in first grade and she was one of the elephants too.

Cleopatra exhibition at the California Science Center
Today we went to the California Science Center members only pre-show of the Cleopatra exhibition. The show will open to the public from May 23 till the end of the year. There are more than 150 priceless Egyptian artifacts including gold jewelry, small & large stone monuments, tools and various artifacts that tie directly to Cleopatra's world 2,000 years ago! Too bad photography was not allowed inside the show, I secretly snapped a couple shots at ISO1,600 to share.

Los Angeles Zoo
It was two & half years ago when we first went to the LA Zoo. The girls have been doing a lot of projects about animals and Vivian has been bugging us to take her to the zoo since Spring break... We went there at around 11am and the parking lot was already packed. We went up to the table and signed up for one year family membership. It's only $99 for the whole family unlimited visit to the zoo for the entire year plus two extra guest tickets for free!
The girls were very excited to see all kinds of animals but after hanging out there for almost four hours, they were very tired... We had an early dinner at Todai to pre-celebrate Mother's Day, they place was so busy tonight, I think a lot of people took their moms to the restaurant tonight instead of tomorrow to avoid the crowd...
