San Francisco Trip

This was our girls' 1st trip to Northern California and it was also their longest road trip...

We left home on on Friday, dropped by Solvang and had a great lunch at the Andersen's, we also visited an Ostrich/Emo farm, this was our first close encounter with Ostriches and Emos! We stayed our 1st night at King City. Next morning we visited the Aquarium and the Cannery Row in Monterey Bay, we had our Chinese New Year eve dinner at a Japanese restaurant in Daly City; a town south of San Francisco. On our 3rd day, we visited the Marina area, Pier 39, the Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard Street... We went to Chinatown in the evening and had a great dinner there. Lots of people set off firecrackers all night in the Chinatown, it was so loud! On the 4th day, we spent our last 1/2 day visited the California Academy of Sciences at the Golden Gate Park before driving all the way back to the Southern California. We got home safely before 9pm, it was a wonderful mini vacation!

Girls play day with Sarah

Today we invited Erica's classmate Sarah over to our place for a play day. The girls had a lot of fun with their friend, watched KungFu Panda, made candy necklaces, played Dunkadoos, ate lots of chocolate and went to Souplantation for dinner. We will try to arrange more play days for the girls.

We've got 2 hamsters!

Erica and Vivian were so excited when mommy took them to the Petsmart and bought two male Russian Roborovski hamsters on Sunday evening! Daddy helped to set up the new hamster house and put in the girls room. Erica named her hamster Whiskers & Vivian named hers Hamstee. The little creatures are 3 months old and they are as cute as buttons!

Another typical Sunday afternoon at the local park... The girls saw a lady walking a toy dog, can't resist to play with the dog... I snapped a picture with our new Panasonic ZS3.

Vivian and her Nativity set

Last Sunday afternoon when I was setting up some unwanted stuff to take pictures for ebay auctions, Vivian won't let me take a picture of the Nativity set because she said she wants to keep it and play with it! She kept sticking her head behind the set so that I won't be able to take a picture... Here's a picture I snapped.

We've got Universal Studios Theme Park annual passes!

It was a great deal for the Southern California residents... Buy the 1-day Universal Studios Theme Park ticket and get the 2010 annual pass! We immediately signed up for it and 40 minutes later, we were at the front gate! Both girls loved the WaterWorld show, Shrek 4D show and the Special Effects show but was totally terrified at the Backdraft show! Even though we told the girls that everything there were just for the show and we all would be fine... Poor Vivian cried and thought she's gonna die at Studio 30 (Backdraft show) when the chemical warehouse set caught on fire and things started to blow up! Today's weather was as beautiful as it could be, we spend a great afternoon there! When we asked the girls when do they want to come back again, they said "how'bout tomorrow?"

Happy 2010!

Happy New Year to everybody! Warmest blessings to all our friends and family in the year of 2010! We kicked off the New Year by taking the girls to the "Lake" and let them try the ice skating for the 1st time on the 1st day of the year. The girls had a blast and took a good afternoon nap after that! Where should we go tomorrow?
