Erica's "Best days ever"

We took Erica's kindergarten's buddy Katelyn with us to Pine Mountain Club on Saturday late afternoon, she became our 1st guest to the cabin! PMC had heavy snow storm the night before so there were lots of snow on the ground. It was very challenging for me to drive a front-wheel-drive van without chain under the severe weather but we made it there safely! As soon as we arrived, I put the snow chain on the wheels which made driving on the icy road 100% safer! The girls watched some TV and had some snacks, Erica & Vivian shared their bed with Katelyn at night and they all slept very well.

The girls woke up early the next morning, we had a good breakfast and the kids went outside sleding. After that, they went to the Club House to play Ping Pong, Air Hockey and Foosball... Not too long after we returned to the cabin, Sarah and her dad Greg dropped by, Sarah was in Erica's same class when they were in First grade and they are in the same class again this year in 4th grade. Sarah's parents bought a cabin on the north east side of the PMC near the lake ten year ago. Soon after Sarah's visit, Katelyn's parents arrived, then San's family also came! Our little cabin was filled with visitors! We later took Chen and San family down to the Club House and then visited Sarah's cabin when we dropped off Sarah.

Since it was getting late and road condition was poor, we invited Chen family to stay a night at our place. We had a nice home cooked dinner and we all a fun day! We went to bed around 10:30pm and had another great night! The next morning, we had donuts for breakfast, then it was sledding time again! Chen family stayed till around 10:30am. After we had lunch, we cleaned up and left PMC and headed home for the New Year's eve celebration.

Baby Alex's 2nd Birthday party

San family invited us to Alex's 2nd Birthday party at California Pizza Kitchen on Saturday, it was a big party with over 40 guests! After lunch, the kids got to ice skate at the Lakes for an hour. It was raining but it didn't seem to bother the kids that much.

Natalie is 11 years old and Jonathan is 14 now! Erica & Vivian love playing with their big brother. We had Chinese dinner at Chang 101 in Thousand Oaks.

Inside our cabin

Pine Mountain Club had snow on Thursday, when we went there on Saturday afternoon, there were still a lot of snow there. The girls were so excited to see the snow, they couldn't wait and started playing. We have set up the audio/ video system up at the loft and hung up several framed art, the place started to look quite nice now. I think we can fully furnished the cabin by the end of the year. We will bring in a coffee table, a futon, a couple of floor lamps and a new refrigerator. We still need to install new door locks, shower head on 2nd floor bathroom, change the kitchen faucet and install a Tiffany style hanging lamp for the dining table in the next couple trips.

Big move to our vacation home!

Saturday December 1 was our big move to our new cabin in Pine Mountain Club! We rented a 14 feet U-Haul Truck and loaded up 2 sets of Queen beds, a large couch, a large dining table with 6 chairs, a night stand, a small media center and 2 sets of large vertical blinds. I took the girls with me on the truck and Helen drove her car loaded with other stuff and headed to the mountain. I had never seen the girls so excited throughout 100+ miles drive to the mountain, must be their first time experience sitting at the front seat on a big truck!  It was so beautiful up on the mountain, it was drizzling and it was quite cold at night, we set up the fireplace and turned on the heater, we spent our 1st night in the cabin! This morning Vivian told us she saw a deer outside of her bedroom window last night!

Today is Helen's birthday! We went to the Clubhouse for breakfast, after that, we went back the the cabin and did a little more work before heading to Lebec to return the U-Haul truck. After dropping off the truck, we drove to Ikea in Burbank to buy couple blankets, shower curtain and a few kitchen stuff, then we went to Todai Buffet to celebrate Helen's birthday. It was a very tiring but very exciting weekend! We are planning to head up to the mountain this coming weekend to brings more stuff up there, install vertical blinds, door locks and more cleaning...
